Accessibility

Paperwork tools should work for everyone.

Our goal

We aim for Paperbrass to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We test with a keyboard, check color contrast in light and dark mode, and fix problems as we find them. We have not had an independent accessibility audit yet.

What we support

  • Every tool can be operated with a keyboard, with visible focus indicators and a “Skip to content” link.
  • Text and controls are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast in both light and dark themes.
  • Buttons and form fields have labels; progress and results are announced to screen readers.
  • Pages can be reordered with the keyboard: focus a page, press Space, move it with the arrow keys and press Space again.
  • Animations are reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Layouts are designed to adapt to small screens and browser zoom.

Known limitations

  • Drawing a signature or a redaction box needs a mouse, touch or stylus. Alternatives: type your signature in the Signature maker, and use “Find text to redact” in Redact PDF.
  • Page previews are images of your document. Screen readers can’t read the document content in the preview; the files you download keep their original text.
  • Placing items in Fill & sign is easiest with a pointer. With a keyboard, choose an item, focus a page and press Enter to place it, then move it with the arrow keys.

Feedback

If something on Paperbrass is hard to use with your device or assistive technology, please tell us at support@paperbrass.com. Let us know the page, what you were trying to do and the browser or assistive technology you use, and we’ll do our best to fix it.
